Single Storey Extension to Semi-Detached House

Customer Requirement

This customer wanted more space and a dining room adding to their period semi-detached house. The space around the side of the house allowed for a large single storey extension.

Extension Construction

We built a single storey extension to the side and back of the house, attached to the existing kitchen. It included an additional shower room with toilet, so more complex drainage was required in the construction of the groundworks.

We had to move a lot of the existing drains before we could commence with groundworks, then add the new drainage for the extension. The new drains can be seen in the pictures.

Footings were dug out, concrete poured, then blocks built up to the damp proof course level. Insulation and a polythene membrane was laid, then the concrete slab poured and leveled.

Walls were built then the roof added. Pictures show the roof structure constructed from mad to measure roof timbers.

Final pictures will be with us shortly.
